I just left Amanda a comment saying that someone needed to write an OED blog, and there you go and do it. Now I'm going to go look up "blog" in the OED...

The OED will not have blog in it. They haven't caught up with the 21st century yet. Well, what do you expect from a book that has had entries added to it only once since its publication in 1928 (in 1998)? Choice quote about the writing of the OED:
"There is J. R. R. Tolkien, employed in 1919 --- mostly concentrating on "W" (warm, wasp, water, wick, wallop, waggle, winter). He said that the time he worked on the OED he learned more "than any other equal period of my life." In one of the many delightful footnotes to The Meaning of Everything, we are told that Tolkien "found sufficient evidence for the existence of the strange expression the right to wallop one's own nigger to prepare a slip for it: but his seniors at the Dictionary thought it too offensive (and insufficiently illustrative) and so did not use it."
Maybe Q, Lucas, and Amanda should get together and write the OED for college-students?

Yet the OED is the only place I would recommend to get the most extensive history of O, E, and D. And having read Priya's comment, I would leave the same response for her (except for the part about having read her comment - and I would have to include any subsequent sentences. That includes this one, right?).

An amazing testimony on how i conceive and also get cure from my fibroid permanently with his natural herbs , i wonder why people still don't believe that roots and herbs are very essential and fruitful in different aspect, especially when you can't conceive and bear children. I am a living witness because I tried all I could to be pregnant but all to no avail, on this faithful day, i decided to check the net for updates on healthy living and i came across testimonies of lot of women who Dr Onokun has helped with his native herbs to conceive. i decided to put a try because this has been my greatest problem in life so I emailed Dr Onokun, and he told me what to do which i did, after which he sent me some roots and herbs syrup and gave me step by step guild lines on how and when to have sex with my man. I missed my menstrual flow within a short period of taking it, and the doctor confirmed that I am pregnant. I am very glad to tell the world that I just put to bed a bouncing baby boy last week.
